  1. In Dan Rather's social circle, that may be true. In my social circle, an intellectual snob is someone who knows that the Lone Ranger Theme is part of the William Tell Overture.

  2. In my circle, an intellectual snob may be someone who finds herself mindlessly humming the William Tell Overture as she bounces along a dirt road in a truck, and who believes the words to the song are, "To the dump, to the dump...".
