The Return of Giving Thanks

It has been almost a year since I have posted here.  Truthfully, I miss myself.  So November one and I have returned to document things I am thankful for.  (I have a nagging sense that I should not end a sentence with a preposition but I’m not sure how to rephrase that last sentence, so I’ll just forge ahead.)  I am following a Scripture plan for November that suggests things I may be thankful for.  (Again) Today’s suggestion?   Life and breath.
I can get behind that.

1.  I am thankful to be alive.
2.  To be breathing through two nostrils.
3.  For the rain that washed the dust out if the air today.
4.  For brand new windshield wipers to clear the rain off of my brand new windshield.
Last year I was thankful for heated seats.  My brand new car doesn’t have heated seats.
5.  I’m thankful that I am a living, breathing grownup who will soon get over that.
6.  I’m thankful for lists.  I am working on a big list right now.  That is, a list of big things.
7.  Thankful for the energy to work on big things.
Here is a big thing I have been working on. Willy Wonka’s factory wall. This is not on my list, but it is just super fun.  It is scenery for the Dodge City musical.  It is like a big Sip and Paint time but the real joy is that it only has to look good from far away and I don’t have to take it home when I am done and decide what to do with it. 8.  & 9.  Thankful for both those things.
10.  Thankful for a month between Halloween and holidays to take a deep breath and reflect on how good it is to be alive.
